Help Me Perfect my Conference Pitch

So at the conference I have to have a pitch prepared. The pitch is a verbal explanation of my book that is only a sentence or two long. The most important thing is that it hooks whoever I'm saying it to, but I'm way to close to know if it's hooking anyone. I need help! Any feedback from anyone would be so greatly appreciated. Does it make you go "oooo I'd like to know more about that book?" Be honest! I need to know real responses. Thanks guys. You Rock!

Here it is:
My novel, A White Room, is about a turn of the century housewife who battles hallucinations of her house and furniture coming to life while secretly nursing to the poor despite her new husband who prosecutes unlicensed medical practitioners.
