Bizarre History - Forced Sterilization in America

This is not an official eugenics poster as far as I am aware but it's an example of how people  used to think .

Eugenics was an official program in the United States and other countries that spanned almost a century. People who were deemed unfit to breed were sterilized against their will. Reasons people were sterilized ranged from being "accused" of promiscuity to being blind, unintelligent, or considered unfit for any other reason. Many of these individuals had nothing wrong with them and many of the women who were accused of promiscuity were actually raped. Remember sterilization required surgery. The people who had this done to them who are still alive explain they were taken into a surgery room and put to sleep without being told what was being done to them and afterwords they woke up with post surgery incisions and stitches but were never told what was to them.
